This is how we work

An agile approach creates the best results

At PBN, we use a tried-and-tested development method that ensures an efficient process from development, production and installation to global roll-out and support.

A strong collaboration

Successful custom machinery is the result of knowledge and experience – yours, as the customer, and ours, as the developer and manufacturer. For this reason, a good dialogue throughout the process is critical.

We believe in an open and mutual collaboration. In this way, we avoid surprises along the way and ensure a good result every time.

The five steps below describe the phases of our methodology.

Do feel free to contact us if you have any questions relating to the phases. We will be happy to provide explanation.

Consulting & design

Together, we will review the assignment and determine the specifications. Often, we receive complete requirement specifications. However, if it is required, we also offer a pre-project during which we clarify expectations and exchange ideas in order to clearly identify the issues. Then, based on our experience and competences, we prepare several drafts and solution proposals which form the basis for a proposed price.

Planning & documentation

Once the job has been defined, the planning phase begins and we prepare complete documentation. During the entire project, we meet regularly, both internally and with our customer. This ongoing contact ensures that the project progresses according to plan.

Manufacturing & quality control

The documentation is used to procure and produce the components for the final solution. Moving towards the final test, the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components are combined with the programming of steering, etc. Once final assembly is completed, up to three tests are performed. The first test is an internal test which is performed prior to the second test, the FAT test, which is performed in collaboration with the customer. Any changes are implemented before the solution is shipped to our customer. The last test – a SAT test – is performed in collaboration with the customer, typically in connection with commissioning to ensure that the solution is ready for use.

Shipment & installation

Once the final solution has been verified, we install the equipment at the customer’s facility. As part of the installation, the coordination is handled in active collaboration with the project stakeholders. Once the equipment is installed, the final commissioning is performed. During the commissioning, the equipment is tested once more.

Service & maintenance

After installation, the solution is handed over to our customer and it is then tested with other interfaces. A tailored service agreement forms part of the handover, just like we train your staff in the use and maintenance of the equipment.
